I have to say, making Christmas cookies has never been my favorite cookie to make. The effort is far more than I’m usually willing to exert. However, with “K” and “L” in a very craftsy phase of their lives, *not* making Christmas cookies was not an option. And I have to admit, doing this activity with the girls is pretty fun. They get so excited about the whole rolling out and shaping the dough thing. This year, there was a fascination with making ginger[bread]-shaped girls. Several “ginger girls” made their way onto the cookie sheet.
Then, there was the decorating part. Several of the decorating supplies (e.g., red, green and white frosting, M&Ms, Dots) found homes on top of the cookies as well as inside their mouths. Just like good chefs, they made sure they tasted their food before letting anyone else eat them.
All in all, I think they did a pretty darn good job! See for yourself!
