A Holiday Smarollingene

LifeAndTimes_HolidaySmarollingene_IMG_6917 They always do a very nice job celebrating special holidays throughout the year at the Norwegian Seaman’s Church in San Francisco. So when we heard that they would be putting on a holiday party in conjunction with the usual bi-weekly smarollingene, we immediately added it to our holiday calendar of events.

As always, they did not disappoint. It was a wonderful celebration of the season. Services began with each child from the congregation carrying a piece of the Nativity scene to the front. Then, several Norwegian holiday songs were sung ending with Silent Night in Norwegian, then Swedish then English. I thought that was very thoughtful.

Following the services, there were several Norwegian cookies and other treats upstairs. A fun drawing to encourage a donation to the church and a visit from Santa Claus rounded out the afternoon. It was such a nice event and the girls had a ball.
